On Wednesday, November 12th, ACRON members and colleagues from the field gathered at the beautiful Kasteel Woerden for our autumn meeting. An afternoon full of insights, networking, and connection – exactly what ACRON stands for.
We kicked off with the general assembly, where we looked back and ahead at current developments within the association. This was followed by an inspiring program led by moderator Tom van Meerten on the unique opportunities and challenges of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) – cell and gene therapies that are fundamentally transforming healthcare.
Program highlights:
Annemiek Verkamman (hollandbio) & Melvin Evers (Evers Genetic Therapy Consultancy) offered a behind-the-scenes look at ATMP development and its impact on health and the economy.
Roberto Liu (Amsterdam UMC) took us through the practical aspects of CAR-T cell therapy: from the first infusion to reimbursement and implementation.
Monique Muller & Paul Klaver (Allucent) shared insights on how CROs address the unique challenges of ATMP research.
The afternoon concluded with a lively panel discussion, followed by an informal networking reception – the perfect moment to continue conversations and get to know new faces.
Many thanks to all speakers, participants, and colleagues who made this meeting a success. We look back on a valuable afternoon full of knowledge sharing and connection!
