An inspiring day at the ACRON event, delving into AI in healthcare and clinical research on Wednesday, 13 November 2024!
Under the guidance of our moderator, Bart Scheerder, we engaged in insightful presentations and discussions on AI’s impact in healthcare.

Andre Dekker from Maastricht University Medical Center opened with an enlightening talk on the importance AI and data in healthcare, showcasing how AI enhances efficiency and effectiveness in medical processes.
Next, Wing Lon Ng from IQVIA shared applications of AI in clinical development, emphasizing how AI supports better decision-making and proactive risk assessment—crucial for successful clinical trials.
Then, Terttu Haring from Syneos Health inspired us with her vision of AI and data science improving patient selection, site access, and data collection in clinical operations. Her talk encouraged us to consider the evolving role of human intelligence alongside AI.

The day concluded with an engaging panel discussion, where speakers addressed audience questions and explored the opportunities and challenges of AI in healthcare.
Afterward, attendees enjoyed networking drinks, exchanging thoughts and ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

The speakers’ presentations are available in PDF format upon request, exclusively for members and event participants. These can be obtained through the secretariat ([email protected]).

With new insights and connections, we look forward to the future of AI in this field!
